Lady Warriors Capture Undefeated CVC Lake Division Championship
The Edgewood Lady Warriors capped off an impressive regular season in championship fashion with a hard-fought 6-4 victory over the Geneva Eagles, securing the undefeated CVC Lake Division Championship and finishing the regular season with an outstanding 19-3 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play. The title marks Edgewood’s third CVC Championship in the last four seasons, continuing the program’s tradition of excellence and establishing the Lady Warriors as one of the area’s premier softball teams.
The Warriors have been powered all season by dominant performances in the circle from Luci Paolillo, who has recorded 148 strikeouts with an impressive 1.317 ERA. At the plate, Edgewood’s offense has been relentless, led by Faith Vencill (.519), Haylee Rhodes (.419), Luci Paolillo (.414), Sydney Miller (.411), Addy Lamson (.407), Carly Kray (.377), and Carly Tracy (.350). Defensively, senior catcher and team leader Natalie Ianetta has anchored the defense with 165 putouts, while Joslyn Newbold and Lilly Walker have delivered highlight-reel defensive plays night after night. 
The Lady Warriors now turn their focus to postseason play as they host Jefferson in the OHSAA Division IV District Semifinal on Tuesday, May 19th at 5:00 PM at Edgewood High School, looking to carry their championship momentum into tournament action.
